I haven't yet commented much on the 60th RVS in Monte Carlo that took place a couple of weeks ago, primarily because it was a fairly staid affair. There has been much less of note happening in the reinsurance arena in the last 12 months than in the previous year, and there was very little to engage participants in enthusiastic debate.

That is not to say that there weren't some interesting developments to talk about, but given how far removed many reinsurance professionals are from the potentially market changing tech coming in to the sector (at least in their opinion), it is interesting to note that technology was a broadly raised topic.

With so many #InsurTech firms raising money from non-insurance sources, one has to wonder how long it will take for Reinsurers to become obsolete...?
